- Apr 17, 2012 - Flag State Implementation Meeting
The SG of AMoU attended Flag State Implementation(FSI20) sub-committee meeting at IMO Headquarters in London from 26th-30th March 2012. AbujaMoU in collaboration with IMO is organizing a 3-day Workshop for Heads of Maritime Administration(MARADs) at Le Meridian Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, Nigeria, from 18-20 of June 2012.
- Apr 11, 2012 - AMoU Basic Training Course on Port State Control for Port State Control Officers:
Abuja MoU Secretariat is pleased to inform you that preparation is underway for the AMoU Basic Training Course on Port State Control for Port State Control Officers to be held in Pointe Noire, Congo. The Training is scheduled for May, 2012 and is intended for PSCOs nominated by the Maritime Administrations of the 12 full member States of Abuja MoU (States who have deposited their Letter of Acceptance at the Secretariat). The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Congo has kindly offered to host the Training. A more detailed information will be circulated soon.

- Jan 27, 2012 - Republic of Angola submits letter of acceptance of the Memorandum Of Understanding on Port State control for West and Central Africa:
The Secretariat of Abuja MoU is pleased to inform you that the Republic of Angola submitted her Letter of Acceptance of the West and Central Africa Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control (Abuja MoU) to the Secretariat on Friday, January 27, 2012. Angola thus becomes 12thcountry in the Abuja MoU region to become a full member of the Organization after Cote d’ Ivoire who attained full membership in 2011. read more
- Feb 1, 2011 - Cote D'ivoire submits formal letter of acceptance:
On 28 January, 2011, Cote D’Ivoire formally submitted a Letter of Acceptance of the West and Central Africa Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control (Abuja MoU) to the Secretariat. Cote D' Ivoire, thus becomes the 11th country in the West and Central African Sub-region to formally accept the Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control. To read more goto our press release
- Feb 1, 2011 - Togo makes IMO White List:
On 12th May, 2010, Togo was accepted into the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) White list. The White List identifies the countries that have demonstrated a plan of full compliance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 (1978 STCW Convention, as amended).
